Reporters: I am on the planning committee for the upcoming MCRA Conference to be held April 28 & April 29, 2018 in St. Charles, MO.
We have booked Kim Greiner, who is an official reporter in Kansas City, KS. Kim has conducted techie seminars in Kansas. Kim is going to give us insight to Dropbox and gadgets.
If you have anything you would like for Kim to present along these lines, please let me know, and I will see if Kim can include your idea in her presentation.
We are also considering having a Town Hall, which may include a number of topics. I am looking for input from reporters on what topics they may be interested in learning/conversing about with colleagues.
This can be anything from how do you do.....what would you do if.......it can be concerns or issues that you would like input on. Remember, we cannot discuss pricing of any sort, so there can be no discussion on page rate, appearance fees, anything that is not public information.

It's Christmas time and easy to get caught up in the holiday rush. A lot of the semester finals are coming up and that means practice, practice, practice. Be sure and put your practice schedule on your calendar and check it off each day/week. Ending out the year with some or most of your goals met is always very satisfying. With the new year approaching, you will want to revamp your goals for a brand new 2018.

| MCRA ANNUAL CONFERENCE - 2018!
The Region I Conference Committee has been working hard putting our 2018 convention together. The conference will be held Saturday, April 28, and Sunday morning, April 29, 2018, at the Drury Inn in St. Charles, Missouri.
This lovely new hotel is in the Streets of St. Charles development, which has, at last count, at least seven restaurants in the complex, a movie theater, a coffee shop, an ice cream shop, and many other amenities. It has safe walking paths through the complex also. It is approximately a mile from Old Town St. Charles Main Street and from the Ameristar Casino, if that floats your boat!
We will be having Tracy Bianco speak on motivation and professionalism to kick off the conference. I don't want to give all the seminars away yet, but we also have an Armed Intruder Scenario seminar. I have been to this seminar, and I think it's something we all need to see, think about, and practice how to react in this situation. We will also be having a Town Hall. Debbie McLaughlin is asking for ideas for topics that you want to cover in this seminar.
We'll reveal the rest of the seminar lineup in next month's Progress4U, along with a registration form for the conference. We have a block of rooms set aside at the Drury Inn.
