Safely dispose of your unwanted or unused prescription and over the counter medications at the take back event sponsored by the Lafayette Police Department and the Drug Free Coalition of Tippecanoe County.

SAMHSA Opioid Prevention Toolkit

Opioid overdose continues to be a major public health issue in the United States. Opioids include illegal drugs, as well as prescription medications used to treat pain such as morphine, codeine, fentanyl, oxycodone, and more. The use and misuse of illicit and prescription opioids has contributed to a significant amount of accidental and near deaths. Overdose can occur when a person is deliberately misusing their medication or when someone is taking their prescriptions as directed. Do you know how to recognize an opioid overdose?  Or what to do if you suspect an opioid overdose is occurring?  Do you know how to recognize an opioid overdose? Or know what to do if you suspect an opioid overdose is occurring? 

The Opioid Overdose Prevention Toolkit offers strategies, facts, and information that will help us prevent opioid related overdoses and deaths as well as handling them safely when they occur.
