Mindfulness and White Privilege: An Anti-Racism Seminar for White People will run between January 21 and February 14 at the Zen Center of Philadelphia, 4904 Cedar Avenue. The seven-session course, which blends mindfulness meditation practices with an exploration of white privilege, was developed last year for Wellspring at the Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields.

This year it is being offered through the Zen Center of Philadelphia and the Springboard Meditation Sangha. The course is open to a multi-faith audience and aims to engage white people in both a spiritually and historically informed practice of addressing racism, fostering the personal insight and self-understanding that is essential in building the trust and awareness needed for interracial work. Did you know there are about 300 homeless people in Bucks County and 80 of them are struggling between Doylestown and New Hope?

Homeless people don't have frequent access to laundry facilities. So when their socks get wet, they risk getting trench foot, or even frostbite. They need dry socks to stay healthy. Now, here is a simple way everyone can help: Be a part of  The Great Sock Drive of 2017!

Last year the parish of  St. Philip's Episcopal Church, New Hope , collected well over 800 pairs of socks to distribute. We welcome all donations of new socks for men and socks, stockings, leggings and panty hose for women. Help give Christmas Stockings a new meaning: when you are out shopping for the holiday, buy some socks for the homeless in our own community. Place them into the big blue tub on the porch of St. Philip's (10 Chapel Road).

St. Philip's parishioners will help distribute the socks to Code Blue, Bucks County Opportunity Council, and St Mark's Episcopal Church, Frankford. For more info:  www.stphilipsnewhope.org .

Children, Youth, and Families Ministry Coordinator - Saint Paul's Church, Chestnut Hill , Philadelphia, PA .

The CYF (Children, Youth, and Families) Ministry Coordinator is a full-time, established position with benefits (insurance, and pension in year 2), and an efficiency apartment on campus if desired.

Full-time staff include the Rector, Administrator, Music Director, and Capital Campaign Facilitator.

At Saint Paul's we believe that children have an innate sense of the presence of God. Godly Play is a Montessori approach to faith stories, gaining for participants religious language, and enhancing their spiritual experiences through wonder and play (which is children's work).

Youth engage in a lifelong journey of questioning, exploring, and discovering together. Confirmation, Rite 13, service to others, and fellowship all offer an arena to find support and grace in their encounter with each other and God.

The CYF Ministry Coordinator is accountable to the Rector, manages budget responsibilities, and works collegially with other staff, volunteers, teachers, youth group advisors, and parents.  Email all documents to:  [email protected] Website: www.stpaulschestnuthill.org .
