Exclusive DNA offer
Fellow Downtowners,

The new year has gotten off to a great start for the DNA! We were honored to have our City Mayor, Jim Strickland speak at our first meeting in January, and our February meeting with Memphis Grizzlies President Jason Wexler was just as exciting!

This year we are focused on the role DNA plays in enhancing downtown living, in addition to supporting and promoting our downtown businesses. I hope you will consider (if you haven't already) joining one of our committees to help continue to make downtown one of the best communities in our city!

I am also excited about the return of our DNA monthly newsletter, "Up on Downtown"! Each edition will highlight special events as well as keep downtowners up to date with the latest news and issues that affect our community.

As always, I want to thank all of you who continue to support the DNA through your annual membership dues and participation! Thank you for having a vested interest in promoting downtown. I look forward to seeing you at our next meeting!

Take Care,
Mickell
TROLLEYS: ABSENCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER
No trolleys by Memphis in May, but let MATA know we miss them with a yellow ribbon!

While not for lack of effort, the latest word from MATA is that the trolleys will not be back anytime soon. In the meantime, we're calling for the downtown community to rally together and let MATA know just how much we miss the trolleys - whether through yellow ribbons on trolley stops, waves to trolley drivers, or making every Friday Trolley Night by doing something special. Read more»

Jason Wexler is February speaker

If you weren't at the February member meeting, boy did you miss out! We had Grizzlies' president Jason Wexler as our speaker and host at the FedEx forum, in the beautiful Horseshoe Lounge. Jason gave us a look into what it's like managing the second best franchise in the country, as ranked by ESPN and voted on by fans, and the second strongest brand in the NBA. Read more»

Update on DMC progress with neglected downtown properties

The DMC has been working  aggressively  for years on their "Anti-neglect and anti-blight initiatives." This month we got an update from DMC on their year-end review of Anti-blight initiatives. Read more»

TOIL, TURTLES & TRIUMPHS
DNA Volunteers help clean up riverbank

Inspired by a surge of wine-lubricated camaraderie and carried-forth on a wave of rabid altruism, members of your DNA Communications Committee ventured out at the crack of noon on a sunny and chilly Jan. 30 - as volunteers assisting with the post-flood riverbank clean-up at Mud Island Greenbelt Park. Read more»
