Oh, Hey August!

It used to be said that Baltimore gets quiet in August because every heads to the beach. This year, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Summer Restaurant Week, presented by Ketel One Vodka, is in full swing, now through Aug. 10th.

WTMD's First Thursday Concert is this week, Aug. 7, at the Canton Waterfront Park.

Our favorite Anime conference is back in town this weekend, and we are hosting an Otakon Rally at Pratt & Light Streets on Friday.

Baltimore Magazine's Best of Baltimore Party is Aug. 14th at the Hippodrome, and if that's not enough, The Walters is hosting their Here & Now 2 party that same night.

Pints in the Park

About six years ago we took on a little capital project known as Center Plaza. We added lighting, seating, fountains, and grass. Now we have the perfect oasis at the corner of Charles & Fayette streets to host happy hours. Pints in the Park returns to Center Plaza this Friday, Aug. 8, 5-8pm. Stop by for $2 beers and wine from Brewer's Art and Linganore Winecellars, the Doughy Dog food truck, a free concert by Nelly's Echo, and more.

Pratt Street Farmers Market
The Pratt Street Farmers Market has a new vendor starting this week, and they have a delicious line-up of local cheese to go along with the Market's other assortment of fruits, veggies, and baked goods. Stop Pratt & Light Plaza this Thursday, 11am-2pm, and time it right to enjoy a chef demo from Sotto Sopra, 12-1pm.
Downtown Partnership's Annual Meeting
Join Downtown Partnership and the region's most influential business, government, and community leaders for our largest networking event of the year on Thursday, October 2, 5:30-8pm. The evening will feature networking, entertainment, Downtown Baltimore Award Presentations, and updates on The Partnership's major initiatives. Registration is available online.

Star-Spangled Spectacular
On August 20th, the Heritage Area will present the city with 15-star, 15-stripe flags to fly at municipal buildings. The Mayor is asking everyone to fly this flag to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the National Anthem.
Blacktip Reef Fact
Did you know? A genuine coral reef can take 100,000 to 30,000,000 years to fully form. The Aquarium crafted their own-all 3,000 pieces-from the molds of real coral in about a year.
