CHARLOTTE, N.C. (December 30, 2011) - In addition to the industry professionals
who will be speaking at the Fifth Annual Driver Advancement Marketing Summit at The
NASCAR Hall of Fame (NHOF) on Jan. 21 - 22, 2012, attendees will have exclusive access to
the Jeff Gordon/DuPont 20 Years press conference also being held at the NHOF on Jan. 21.
Performance PR Plus is organizing both events.
The summit and press conference are being held on the same dates of NASCAR
Acceleration Weekend, which is comprised of the Class of 2012 Induction into the NASCAR
Hall of Fame on Jan. 20 and the NASCAR Preview 2012 Presented by Sprint, a new one-day fan
event that features driver appearances, interactive displays, stage entertainment, games and other
fan-friendly activities. Both events take place at the Charlotte Convention Center, adjacent to the
NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Gordon, along with DuPont and Hendrick Motorsports executives, will discuss how the
partnership started 20 years ago and how it has remained successful for nearly two decades.
The press event will also include Gordon and Richard Petty together to reminisce about
the historic race in Atlanta in November of 1992 which marked Gordon's first Cup Series start
and Petty's last.
"Each year we cover the topics of public relations and social media, and we spend a lot of
time talking about sponsorships," said Kymberly Brantigan, president of Performance PR Plus.
"This press conference will provide attendees a rare glimpse into all these aspects of the sport
from the perspectives of the driver, team and sponsor. We are thrilled to be able to provide this
opportunity to this year's attendees.
"Throughout the summit we can't emphasize enough the importance of networking and
getting your name and face out there. With the 'who's who' in the industry attending the
NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday night and the NASCAR Preview on
Saturday, it is an ideal time for people looking to network within the industry to be in Charlotte."
In addition to the press event, speakers include Joey Mancari, NASCAR K&N Pro Series
West Director, who will provide valuable information about the NASCAR resume process and
what is necessary for drivers who look to move up the NASCAR ranks including the K&N,
Camping World Truck, Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series.
Larry McReynolds, former crew chief for Davey Allison and Dale Earnhardt, father of a
young driver working his way through the ranks, and FOX Sports, SPEED and SIRIUS/XM
analyst will speak, along with Indy Car driver Townsend Bell who has successfully developed
sponsorships and will provide tips and advice about how attendees can do the same.
The cost to register is $149 per attendee. Drivers, parents, or those
looking to learn more about the professional motorsports industry are welcome.
Due to limited space available at the press event, space is limited and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
