Greetings DVIA Families!

A Few Words From Our Principal

Michelle It's officially fall!  Cooler weather and pumpkin-flavored everything are soon to come!  This is my favorite time of year...how about you?

The DVIA staff is excited for our Core 4 and 5 students as we send them off to Astrocamp this week.  We know they will have so much fun and make new friends as they bond over adventures and away-from-home-learning.

Want to know what I love about DVIA?  Here's a little scenario overheard in Core 1 while students were playing a math game:

Student A to Student B:  "Hey, let's put our pieces together, that way we both win!"

Student B:  "Okay."

Student C:  "We all win because we're all playing the game!"

It's simple moments like this that make our hearts sing!

Lastly, congratulations everyone on successfully completing Work Journal #1 and for your attendance at last week's Jumpstart 2 parent educator conference.  We've heard you're already implementing strategies at home.  Yay!  Keep your calendars open for more workshops to come, listed below.

Tyler's Two Cents!

tyler two cents

I am away at Core 4 and 5 camp this week!  I'll miss all of you on campus but can't wait to share about our adventures when I return next week!

Here's what you need to know this week:

It's Science Camp Week!

Core 4 kids headed out to Science Camp today and will return Wednesday; Core 5 kids head out Wednesday and will return Friday. Please have your Core 5 students in the parking lot and ready to go by 8:30 on Wednesday. Our goal is get the bus on the road by 9:00 to avoid conflicting with morning drop-off. Students should bring a lunch from home for their first day out. For more details, check out Tyler's DP.

Heal Our School, Heal The Bay

A big Thank You!! to Dulce Stein, her son Sawyer and all the volunteers who spent Saturday cleaning our campus as part of the Heal The Bay campaign! Everybody enjoys a clean campus, and a clean campus means less toxic water runoff heading to the Bay.

Have a great week!
