Paso Del Norte Paranormal Society Wants You to Show Them Your "ORBS!"

This month is chock full of fall goodies, like pumpkin spice everything, cooler weather and Halloween traditions. The crazy train to spooky-town won't stop until it reaches the end of the month, culminating on the one day we can celebrate all things macabre and brandish any costume we wish. We visited Henry Flores, President of the Paso Del Norte Paranormal Society to find out more about their plans this month.

Q. Do you feel that having your offices in the heart of downtown helps with your history and ghost tours?

A. We feel that it benefits Downtown El Paso's revitalization for us to have our offices here, not just our tours and events. We are a combination of a Museum, Art Gallery, Caf and Research Center inside the former Wigwam Saloon (1883). Aside from nightclubs, we are the only ones here (so far) at night with large, fun crowds. Where else can you see our collection of "haunted artifacts", paranormal art, the heart of a baby vampire, and watch a classic horror movie in the southwest? Besides that, we have Twinkies!

Every year the community is invited to participate in the annual AIDS Walk fundraiser. The AIDS walk seeks to engage the public about the HIV/AIDS crisis through community-driven outreach, a strong social media presence, and a compelling street campaign.

The event partners with numerous agencies as the International AIDS Empowerment (IAE) a nonprofit organization with offices in El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM. created in 1997 to improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS regionally, nationally, and internationally, and to reduce the incidence of new infections through education, outreach, and testing.

The AIDS Walk not only serves as a remembrance for those who have lost their battle against AIDS, but it is also to support and provide hope for those still living with the disease around the Paso del Norte region.
