Two More Restaurants Open Downtown!

Downtown is known for many things - it evokes thoughts of commerce, politics, shopping, entertainment but most of all,... food. Imagine for a moment the silence that sweeps over your mind when someone asks you, "Where do you want to eat?" If you work downtown the struggle is even more real with so many great food options - choices, choices, choices.

Two more restaurants have opened, and they couldn't be any more different. Nolita Corner Bistro on 420 San Antonio St. opened their doors on Valentine's Day. They offer American cuisine with a few ethnic twists. Don Chuy Caf on 504 S. Mesa St., serves humble but delicious Mexican food.

Owner Carlos Becerra opened Don Chuy Caf in the location that used to be La Feria Grill - the new restaurant continues to serve...

Information on Downtown Construction

The rehabilitation of Downtown El Paso continues its course. Important developments are getting done to improve upon our already beautiful downtown.

Beginning next week, Downtown commuters and visitors should expect additional detours related to the on-going reconstruction of bridges over the Union Pacific Railroad.

Kansas Street will be closed to all traffic between Main Street and Franklin Avenue for three months beginning on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. This is in addition to the construction on Santa Fe Street, which will remain closed to all traffic between Main Street and Franklin through the end of February

Motorists, pedestrians and cyclists should follow marked detours which will be in place at both locations.Traffic flow should remain as smooth as it is currently but feel free to search for alternative routes to navigate around downtown.

Additionally, those commuting to Downtown from the Eastside or Northeast El Paso should consider using Loop 375 or exiting I-10 at Cotton Street and turning right on Texas Avenue to avoid Kansas Street.

Feel free to share this information since many people may not be aware of the closure.

Classical Mystery Tour- A Tribute to The Beatles!

Imagine The Beatles playing in concert with a symphony orchestra.  What would that have sounded like?  Find out for yourself when Classical Mystery Tour performs live Beatles music along with the incredible sound of the El Paso Symphony Orchestra.\

The four musicians in Classical Mystery Tour look and sound just like The Beatles, but Classical Mystery Tour is more than just a rock concert.  The full show presents some 30 Beatles tunes sung, played, and performed exactly as they were written.

Hear "Penny Lane" with a live trumpet section; experience the beauty of "Yesterday" with an acoustic guitar and string quartet; enjoy the rock/classical blend on the hard edged "I Am the Walrus."  From early Beatles music on through the solo years, Classical Mystery Tour is the best of The Beatles like you've never heard them: totally live.

Classical Mystery Tour features Jim Owen (John Lennon) on rhythm guitar, piano, and vocals; Tony Kishman (Paul McCartney) on bass guitar, piano, and vocals; David John (George Harrison) on lead guitar and vocals; and Chris Camilleri (Ringo Starr) on drums and vocals. Martin Herman, who transcribed the musical scores note for note from Beatles recordings, conducts many of the Classical Mystery Tour concerts.

From the recent success of The Beatles Rock Band to the release of the re-mastered Beatles albums, the demand for Beatles material is greater than ever.  Many Beatles fans never had the opportunity to experience a live Beatles show; Classical Mystery Tour offers that live experience in the comfort of a concert hall.
