Beginning next week, Downtown commuters and visitors should expect additional detours related to the on-going reconstruction of bridges over the Union Pacific Railroad.

Kansas Street will be closed to all traffic between Main Street and Franklin Avenue for three months beginning on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. This is in addition to the construction on Santa Fe Street, which will remain closed to all traffic between Main Street and Franklin through the end of February

Motorists, pedestrians and cyclists should follow marked detours which will be in place at both locations.Traffic flow should remain as smooth as it is currently but feel free to search for alternative routes to navigate around downtown.

Evolve Federal Credit Union is pleased to present the 5th annual evolution Art Show. The 5th Annual evolution Art Show will be featuring an action to raise funds for Lee & Beulah Moor Children's Home.

The evolution Art Show is a collection of works from area artists - from young, up and coming artists to seasoned, accomplished artists, and is a great way for them to display their work at a prominent El Paso Studio. In previous years, this show has been an exciting opportunity for many local artists to have their works shown in an exhibition for the first time.

In conjunction with this years show, we will also be featuring an auction that will benefit the Lee & Beulah Moor Children's Home. As part of evolve's commitment to the children of El Paso, we have decided to include this auction to help one of El Paso's most important children's organizations. The works to be auctioned are very special because they have been created by ten of the children who reside within the home.

Nanotechnology is revolutionizing research and development in areas such as medicine, computing, food and energy. We can already find examples in everyday life!

Immortal Technique & Talib Kweli at Tricky Falls!

Felipe Andres Coronel, better known by the stage name Immortal Technique, is an American rapper and urban activist. Most of his lyrics focus on controversial issues in global politics. The views expressed in his lyrics are largely commentary on

issues such as class struggle, socialism, poverty, religion, imperialism, and industrial racism.

Immortal Technique has voiced a desire to retain control over his production, and has stated in his music that record companies, not artists themselves, profit the most from mass production and marketing of music. He claimed in an interview to have sold close to a combined total of 200,000 copies of his three official releases.

Talib Kweli, the Brooklyn-based rapper earned his stripes as one of the most lyrically-gifted, socially aware and politically insightful rappers to emerge in the last 20 years. His travels around the globe as one of rap's most in-demand performers combined with his conversations with political activists and his genre-straddling work with Idle Warship and others caused Kweli to realize that he was limited in a sense, a prisoner of sorts of his own success as one of the world's best rappers with something significant to say.

The concert itself it is not about the generic rap and hip-hop, in fact, both artists along with the opening acts are culturally-driven and socially-insightful lyrics filled with poetry and creative criticism.
