"Ideas may be weapons, but they make better seeds."
-from Daegan Miller's new book
This Radical Land: A Natural History of American Dissent.
Daegan Millerdiscusses his book This Radical Land: A Natural History of American Dissent on Saturday, April 7 at 5 o'clock.
Originally from Columbia County and now living in Madison, Wisconsin, Miller offers a new way of seeing the American past through its radical thinkers, settlers, and artists. He
explores the actions of those who looked to landscape for the language of their dissent - drawing crucial early links between the environment and social justice. The book is published by the University of Chicago Press.
Miller's visit is part of our "Live at the Chatham Bookstore" series that includes readings and conversations with authors hosted by Thomas Chulak from the bookstore. Free. Refreshments will be served. Contact the bookstoreto reserve a copy of the book.
