A Testimonial

In 2014 after some self reflection, I told a friend of mine I was going to be more receptive to God prompts. Little did I know He would have the things in mind for me that He did.

First, I was asked to serve on the Children's Team at my church. Then I was asked to serve on Session as an elder. After much prayer and many questions, I took on both challenges. I thought surely that this was enough.

Then, in mid 2014 I was approached about serving on a mission to Costa Rica.  I dismissed this idea. Shortly thereafter, I was asked by my teenage daughter, Macie, if I thought she could go to Costa Rica. It became obvious to me that God was once again challenging me.

God opened many doors. Once I decided to accept this challenge, He removed many obstacles:  financial excuses, time excuses, and others.

I often ask and wonder why God puts me in the places He does ....do I make a difference and what does He want me to learn. Costa Rica was one time when the message was obvious.

I took my daughter on this trip and I saw why He took me there.  I don't know what difference I made,  or who I might have touched on this trip, but I hope I did.

The one thing I do know that this trip gave my daughter a heart for missions and I know that through Macie many lives will be touched and changed for God's Kingdom. I often ask and wonder why God puts me where he does, but this is one time when I know how and why God used me to make a difference.
