Dairy Facts Shared on Local News Broadcasts
In February SUDIA staff member Stephanie Yow appeared on both WLBT-TV Midday Mississippi and WCBI-TV Sunrise. February was National Heart Health Month and the segment with WLBT-TV focused on the role of dairy in heart health. On WCBI, Yow shared ways that viewers can be Sugar Savvy, highlighting the natural sugars and nutrients found in dairy. Click here to view one of the segments.

Mississippi Child Nutrition Director Joins SUDIA School Nutrition Advisory Council
We are pleased to announce that registered dietitian Brad Barlow, MS, RD is a new member of the SUDIA School Nutrition Advisory Council. Barlow hails from Gulfport where he serves as the Child Nutrition Director for Harrison County Schools. We look forward to his input on our programs and outreach strategies as we continue our work with increasing dairy consumption in Mississippi schools.

Southeast Dairy Farmer Talks Tech at South by Southwest Conference
In March, Alabama dairy farmer Will Gilmer represented dairy farmers from the Southeast at the South by Southwest (SXSW) conference in Austin, Texas. SXSW is an event that brings together people from around the globe to celebrate music, film and technology. DMI invited Gilmer and nine other dairy farmers from across the county to participate in the festival and talk to consumers about technology in the dairy field.
