Annie's Project is an educational program dedicated to strengthening women's roles in the modern farm enterprise. In this six class series, women farmers and ranchers will learn alternative problem-solving, record keeping and decision-making skills. A local offering of Annie's Project will take place Mondays, October 27-December 1 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at DMACC West Campus. Great Beginnings For Families
In partnership with the Waukee YMCA, ISU Extension will be offering Great Beginnings for Families, a five week skills-building program for parents of newborns through preschoolers. Topics will include effective, positive discipline and encouraging learning through play.
Great Beginnings for Families will take place Tuesdays, October 14 through November 11 from 9:45-11 a.m. at the Waukee YMCA. Membership with the YMCA is not required to attend. Registration is $5 and can be completed by contacting Extension Educator Lisa Mickelson at (515) 993-4281 or [email protected]. Free child care will be provided.
