Meet Our New Members

Lupe's story begins back in 2012 when they opened their first location in San Diego California. Founders and Owners, Luis and Angelica Gonzalez had a vision to offer a new concept in Mexican cuisine: a taste of traditional Michoacán dishes mixed in with Baja Style seafood topped with a modern culinary influence served in a fast casual restaurant.  Lupe's has been able to perfect their menu selections and expand to multiple cities in Southern California with locations in San Diego, Huntington Beach, and Dana Point.

We invite all Carnivores, Mexican Food Lovers, Vegetarians, or just hungry Foodies to stop by and check us out.

Quite a few news reports discuss recent employee walkouts across the country in protest of federal policies, such as the recent "Day Without Immigrants" protests.

Employers are obviously concerned about how these protests might affect their business operations and what they should do. Employers want to be able to ensure productivity and maintain attendance policies. The situation can be tough to navigate.

Despite these legitimate concerns, employers should exercise caution before taking disciplinary action against an employee who fails to show up to work because of a protest. In some, but not all, circumstances, the employee's behavior may be legally protected.

On March 27th,  the California Office of Administrative Law (OAL) approved  new regulations relating to the use of criminal background information in employment decisions. These regulations will be filed with the Secretary of State's office and are effective on July 1, 2017.
Employers will have additional burdens under the new regulations.

As  previously reported, the California Fair Employment and Housing Council (FEHC) proposed these criminal history regulations last year.
In addition to reiterating existing prohibitions on the use of criminal history information in California, the regulations require employers to demonstrate that any criminal history information sought is job-related and consistent with a business necessity.

Established by a congressional resolution in 1983, this week of events serves to champion the power of our industry. Travel and tourism professionals from across the nation work throughout the week to promote the impactful contributions their travel markets and organizations make to the U.S. economy.

This year's theme shines a spotlight on the power of travel by recognizing the millions of people who keep this industry strong: the  Faces of Travel. This industry supports the livelihoods of more than 15 million Americans, whose careers have blossomed. And it is one place where the right things matter most: reliability, hustle and attitude. These are the people who help others connect because hospitality runs in their DNA, fueling the travel industry's continued success. These are the jobs and the people we should be celebrating.
