Thank You Volunteers!
National Volunteer Week is April 12-18. Thank you DA volunteers for helping us in the library, the classrooms, the divisions, at special events, with fundraising and more! Your individual and collective time and talent has made a big difference here at Denver Academy.
If you have time to share with Denver Academy, please call Jill Singer in the Development Office at 303-777-5870 ext. 260 and she will make a match between your skills and availability, and our need for assistance at DA.

It's that time of year to recognize all of the amazing Faculty & Staff at Denver Academy. Each year in May, Denver Academy has a Professional Development Celebration where one teacher is recognized as Teacher of the Year and one staff member receives recognition for Staff Member of the Year. These awards come from nominations submitted by parents, students, teachers, staff and anyone who is part of the Denver Academy community. These nominations are welcome in the form of a letter, film, PowerPoint, artwork, you choose! Please submit all nominations to Cynthia Richardson by May 8. Parent Education Series: Structure for a Great Summer
Does your child want to "hang out" indoors watching movies or eating junk food all summer? Explore the intersection of structure and freedom when parenting children, tweens and adolescents over the summer months. How much time should you allow your child to play, relax and socialize vs. participate in family activities, chores or work opportunities?
Learn how to use your child or adolescent's strengths to offer the most autonomy while also maintaining enough structure to support their safety and growth. Leave armed with new information and parenting skills for a great summer.
May 7 ~ 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Presented by DA Counselor Lana Gollyhorn, M.A.
Headmaster's Dinner
Every year, Denver Academy's Headmaster hosts an evening of celebration and appreciation. This invitation-only event honors our most generous donors (gifts totaling $2,500 or more since the 2014 dinner) and Legacy Society members (those who have named DA in their will or estate plan). It is scheduled for May 27th.
If you would like more information about this event please contact the Development Office at 303-777-5870. You can also make your Annual Fund donation online at www.denveracademy.org/give.
Say Yes to the Yes! Program
Denver Academy will be joining the team of the Yes! Program. We are honored to be the first school to have
its very own branch on our campus. The Yes! Program is a program for students who are diagnosed with a reading disability, such as dyslexia, to learn to advocate for themselves, find their creativity and their true passion and bliss as a learner. The Yes! Program honors the students through their creativity and courage.
We have two great ambassadors, Emma
Hans
en
and Kayla Kelley, to lead our group. There will be four organized events with the larger Yes! Program, as well as additional activities that Denver Academy's ambassadors will plan for our campus group. If your child is interested in applying, please contact Tammy Curran for more
information. Activities will begin next fall with a kick-off party for all of Denver Academy's Yes! members.
