In 2003, the Jane Addams Vocational High School received a grant to produce a musical, something the school had never done. There were three successful performances of the play with a raucous and appreciative local crowd of students and family members. In May 2012, director Jon Adam Ross and photographer David Katzenstein organized a reunion of the original cast to photograph the alumnae nine years later and to also create video interviews of each participant, asking them how being a part of the production of Grease had an impact on their lives.

ARTIST PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST DEADLINE: June 30 »
The deadline for the second quarter of the JGS Photography Contest is getting closer. Submit three of your photos that exemplify “forward thinking,” along with a short artist statement. We will award each quarterly winner with a $1000 prize, a solo show, and a nomination to our Annual Artist Award in the amount of $5,000. Runners-up are presented with fine art books and a website feature. Submit your images by June 30, 2012.

Winners in the Spring 2012 JGS Resolution Photography Contest for artists aged 14-18 have been announced.
