YOSSI
In this sequel to Eytan Fox's international hit YOSSI AND JAGGER, Dr. Yossi Hoffman has become a valued and dedicated cardiologist, often using his work as a way to escape from dealing with his life. He lives alone, unable to break through the walls and defenses built around him since the death of his lover. His daily routine at the hospital is shaken up by the arrival of a mysterious woman whom he follows to the southern city of Eilat. Surrounded by sea and sand dunes, he meets Tom, a handsome, self-confident, openly gay man, who represents a new world, different from the one that shaped Yossi.

HAPPY ENDINGS PANEL
Queer characters have become increasingly visible on television, but network TV has never given us a gay character like slovenly, sarcastic Max (Adam Pally), part of the ensemble of hilarious friends on ABC's hit sitcom "Happy Endings." (The show even satirizes other shows' queer comic relief with Stephen Guarino's over-the-top Derrick.) Pally and Guarino will be joined by Casey Wilson (Penny) and fellow cast members, and creator/executive producer David Caspe and executive producer Jonathan Groff. They'll discuss inclusion, vintage limos and of course, "Man-Donna."
When: Sun, Jul 22 1:00pm
Where: DGA 1
Tickets: $13.00

GIRLS AND BEARS AND ART ROCK, OH MY!
|
 | | Celebrating 30 Years of Outfest |
Legends collided Friday night at REDCAT as the great Ann Magnuson paid tribute to gay cult rocker Jobriath with a performance that inspired the packed house to give her and her fellow performers (including Prince Poppycock) a standing ovation. That same over-capacity crowd raved over the documentary JOBRIATH A.D.
Meanwhile, it was Ladies' Night at the DGA, with Outfest's annual All-Girl Friday featuring well-received films like KISS ME, STUD LIFE and the always-popular GIRLS' SHORTS program.
And a woofy time was had by all at the Ford, as a decidedly hunky and hairy viewership filled the amphitheater for the world premiere of the funny and touching BEARCITY 2: THE PROPOSAL, which screened following a hilarious on-stage chat hosted by Sirius/XM radio personality Frank DeCaro with director Douglas Langway and cast members Kathy Najimy, Gerald McCullouch, Stephen Guarino, Richard Riehle and Joe Conti. |
