DAY 20

WHAT TYPE OF INHERITANCE DO WE LEAVE BEHIND?

Read:

Luke 2:52; Proverbs 13:22a

All are familiar with the movie scene of the dignified family lawyer sitting in his big office, opposite him sits a widow in black, two young men and two young women. All are anxious to hear the lawyer read what the deceased father has written in his will.

On the one hand the family members are eager to see if they are getting a valuable asset from the inheritance, but on the other hand and on a deeper level the distribution of wealth will reflect the relationship and affection the father had to each of his family members. What looks like the unfolding of a father's will is actually an evaluation certificate for the relationship with the father.

Our Father is alive forever but when he takes the book at the great throne and opens its seals what will our inheritance be? Will it reflect our pleasing relationship to the Father? Every second there are billions of actions being performed around the world. The world is buzzing with actions-major and minor. All have impact. The 3rd law of Newton in Physics states: To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction. This is true in the physical world but not in the spiritual world.

A tiny action of kindness or a sharing of the Gospel with someone can bring enormous impact. It can bring a person to surrender his life to the Lord and a revolution in his life. This was true in my own life. I came to know the Lord personally as Lord and Savior through NBS, my world view and commitments have been changed to please the Father.

Challenge:

I desire for my actions to please the Father and have an everlasting impact in lives of students in the town where Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52).

***   ***   ***

Friends of Nazareth (FON) was formed in 2006 under the umbrella of Training in Mission Evangelism (T.I.M.E.), a 501 (c) (3) corporation located in Huntsville, Alabama. T.I.M.E. is a member in good standing with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

FON exists to serve the Nazareth Baptist School, a day school started by Southern Baptists in 1936 in our Lord's hometown. As one of the top rated schools by the Ministry of Education, it is the only K-12 evangelical school in Israel.

Our goal is to help the Nazareth Baptist School maintain its high credentials and provide Christian education to a greater number of Arab students from both Christian and Muslim families. To do this it is necessary to relocate the school.

All donations to FON are tax deductible to US taxpayers. FON never sells your name to any organization and it complies with all national and international tax laws.
