Jeremiah 29:11
We have a loving God who cares and wants the best for us. It is His one and only Son who said, "I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). However, in order to receive the abundant life and find His plan for our lives we need to trust in Him - at which point we begin to enjoy His blessings, and understand that His plans are not always our plans.
Even though sometimes we feel that we are weary from the challenges and difficulties of life, we need to hold fast to our faith in Him and realize that this loving Father knows what we are going through. We must not give up. He knows His plans for us. We need to keep according to His plan in order to enjoy His blessings and the by-products of our obedience to Him.
A carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer of his plans to leave the business, and live a more leisurely life with his wife. The contractor was sorry, and asked if he would build just one more house. The carpenter agreed, however his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. When the carpenter finished his work, the employer came to inspect the house. He handed the front-door key to the carpenter. "This is your house," he said. The carpenter was shocked! If he had only known he would have done it all so differently.
We build our lives, often putting less than our best into the building. Then with a shock we realize we have to live in it. If we could do it over, we would do it differently. You are the carpenter. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall.
Challenge:
Build wisely for your heavenly house!!
