Build a Box for Reading

Meet the local CCC AmeriCorps team and help build and install a miniature free library in the town of Davy in McDowell County. Learn more here
Alderson Food Hub Community Garden Rebuild Day

Help Alderson build their next community garden! 

Help  is needed weeding, mowing, fence building, and constructing staggered heights of raised bed gardens, with the particular goal of making gardening space available and accessible to older and less abled folks to garden in, and those who need non floodplain soil to garden.  Learn more here.
Garden and Harvest Festival Days

Help the Sundale Nursing Home paint their raised beds and celebrate the harvest with games and snacks
RISE Flood Recovery Project
October 11th | Charleston  

Volunteers will team up with AmeriCorps volunteers to follow up with small businesses to find out how they are recovering from the June 2016 flood. 

The information will be provided to the WV Small Business Development Center to improve the state's support of disaster recovery in the future.  

Volunteers are to meet at the Charleston Civic Center for registration on October 11th at 9:30 AM. The service project will take place from 10AM -12:30PM.

Charleston City Cleanup 
October 11th | Charleston  

Come meet your local AmeriCorps volunteers and make the streets of Charleston sparkle!

Volunteers will remove trash and other debris on Charleston's East End and West Side.  

Volunteers are to meet at the Charleston Civic Center for registration on October 11th at 9:30 AM. 
The service project will take place from 10AM -12:30PM.

Historic Arthurdale Cleanup 

Thank you to the volunteers (and goats!!!) who teamed up to spruce up Eleanor Roosevelt's first New Deal Community!
 

Forks of Coal Education and History Day 

Volunteers helped clean up the Charleston natural area by removing four bags of trash and recyclables during their hike and kayak tour.
