Daylight saving time begins this Sunday!

Remember to turn your clocks forward 1 hour at bedtime on Saturday to join us onetime for Sunday school & Church on Sunday morning!
Worship with us this Sunday 10:00 a.m.
Pastor Donna will lead worship and share a message based upon the Gospel of John 3:14-21 for the Fourth Sunday in Lent.

From 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. we will have youth Sunday school
and small groups/studies for adults
Children's Sunday School will be downstairs in the living room area with Ms. Holly

For Adults, we have two groups: 
1) Traditional Bible Study led by Cliff Carpenter, which meets in the sanctuary. 
2) Contemplative Prayer led by the group in the Gethsemane House.

All are welcome, even if you have not attended the group before.
Please be prompt and gather to start at 9:00.

Groups & Sunday school for youth will end by 9:45 and be followed by an opportunity to grab a beverage and small snack.. Worship will start promptly at 10am. There will be childcare offered during the worship service for younger children.

There will be coffee fellowship and goodies after worship.

Celebrate the Lenten Season with COM and other communities of faith
Each Wednesday during Lent, COM, Lutheran/Presbyterians and Squaw Valley Chapel will gather for a potluck soup super and shared time of worship. Children are welcome but there is no childcare. They can participate in the 45 minute worship or brind something quiet to keep them occupied. Childrens worksheets, blank paper and crayons will be provided

Where:    the Senior Apartments Dining room (10040 Estates Dr, Truckee CA 96161) 

What time:    
  • 5:30 - 6:00 Set up 
  • 6:00 - 6:45 Enjoy dinner and fellowship around the tables
  • 6:45-7:30 Time of worship: singing, Scripture, a devotional, sharing & prayer

Each week we need 3 people from COM to bring soup to share   , there is a sign up at church or you can sign up online through this link:    Soup Sign-up link Bread & water will be provided .

GO GREEN:    Everyone is encouraged to bring your own dinnerware & napkins.

Tuesday's at 6:00 pm with Kings Beach UMC & Christ the King Lutheran church

Group alternates between the two churches and includes fellowship, singing, small group discussion and children's program each night

Seekers' Cinema, 5:30 to 7:00 pm
We'll watch clips from some engaging films about journeys --then discuss the central spiritual themes they raise. To deepen your experience, consider watching the full-length movies in advance.

Want an opportunity to help serve refugee families in the Reno area?
Refugees have many needs from transportation, clothing, tutoring and practice speaking English, or just having friends to hang out with! Sparks UMC mentors a family from Congo, and we mentor a family from Afghanistan.

After a 16 night stretch of open nights we have a few off before more COLD, WINTERY weather arrives next week.

Quick Statistics:
  • Open 31 nights
  • 42 individual guests & 4 dogs have stayed the night
  • Many more than one night for a total of 187 stays
  • 29 people have come for a meal or support, including a family with a 1 year old baby.

Kids Can Recycling Ministry: Please continue to bring your CRV recycling to COM and support our ministry with Truckee Lutheran Presbyterian of turning garbage into good!

These recyclables are exchanged for money which is being donated to International Health Partners and Hands of Hope to provide life and hope for children in Tanzania and Zimbabwe.

Join us for Centering Prayer 
in the Gethsemane House on  
Tuesday & Wednesday 8:00 - 8:30 a.m.
We start with the daily meditation from Pray As You Go which is music, scripture and contemplation for 10-12 minutes, followed by the remaining 18-20 minutes of silent meditation. Here is a link to Pray As You Go for you to check out and use on your own!  Click Here!

Church of the Mountains embraces the Open Hearts, Open Doors, Open Minds slogan of the United Methodist Church.

Expanding on that, this small group is a step into action towards living into that statement more fully. By advocating for and welcoming people of all sexual orientations & gender identities and affirming that ALL people are created in the image of God.
