Family Receives $660K for Death Of 7 y/o Daughter
A Chesterfield, VA family sued the Commonwealth of Virginia and a county employee, after their young daughter died in 2012 of an allergic reaction.
The elementary student was given a peanut by a fellow student. After the severe reaction began to take hold, the school realized they did not have an EpiPen.
The county employee will pay $612,500 and the state will pay $50,000. The employee's portion of the settlement will be paid out of the county's Risk Management Fund.
