AMSL Dean
Dear Friends,
What a wonderful 15th Anniversary Celebration we had! From our Queen of Heaven Ball to the Alumni Golf Tournament and March for Life, and culminating most importantly with a special Mass so beautifully celebrated by our Chaplain, Monsignor McGrath, on Sunday, January 17th, it was an anniversary to remember. Ash Wednesday is February 10 and marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. Please join me in preparation for this season of penance, reflection, and fasting which prepares us for Christ's Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

God Bless,
Kevin Cieply
President and Dean

The St. Thomas More Chapel was rededicated on January 17th by Most Reverend Frank J. Dewane, Bishop of the Diocese of Venice in Florida as the Chapel of St. Thérèse of the Little Flower. Renamed in honor of an anonymous donor, the Chapel honors the memory of a saint the world came to know through her autobiography, "Story of a Soul". In describing her life, St. Thérèse noted the "little way of spiritual childhood." She lived each day with an unwavering confidence in God's love. "What matters in life," she wrote, "is not great deeds, but great love." Thérèse lived and taught a spirituality that reached everyone and everything well and with love. She believed that just as a child becomes captivated with what is before her, we should also have a childlike focus and be totally attentive to love. Thérèse's spirituality then, is of doing the ordinary, yet with extraordinary love.

She saw herself as the "little flower of Jesus." Her mission was to give glory to God by just being herself amidst all the other flowers in God's garden. Because of this beautiful analogy, the title "little flower" will forever be identified with St. Thérèse.
