Dear President Bilodeau, 

Our community does not need the proposed Huntington Beach Poseidon Desalination Plant.  We do need:

•  Conservation as a way of life – whether in wet weather or dry. 
  
  
•  Imported water in wet weather when it is available in the north, and save it  in our groundwater basin for the next dry period.
  
  
• The plan to recycle wastewater in Los Angeles County and injecting it into Orange County’s groundwater basin, adding to what we currently get from our famous GWRS system.

All of these options ensure water reliability and save ratepayers money.

The benefits don’t only show up in our water bill – these alternatives reduce energy demand and provide “free” flood control and pollution abatement.
