The stars have aligned. One of my top fiction books this year is Donna Tartt's The Goldfinch, and since the painting on which this extraordinary novel is centered is currently on-view at The Frick Collection, we would've been crazy to pass up this opportunity. Although the show has been sold out, we were able to get the last group tour available on one of the last days of the exhibition. More stars aligning!

 

So, we've put together the R.J. Julia Dream Gift - perfect for all book and art-lovers:

 

Join us for a relaxing ride down to Manhattan, where we'll see The Goldfinch in person. Our own personal art historian will join us on the bus and expertly contextualize the significance and era in which this painting was created. (Equally cool, Girl with a Pearl Earring is on-view at the Frick.)

 

First, we'll enjoy a pre-fixe lunch at The Asia Society, hold a rousing book discussion, and then walk over to the Frick.

 

On the ride home, you can read through your signed copy of The Goldfinch, take a quick nap or have fun with all of your new friends on the bus.

12 pm: Bus will pick our group up from R.J. Julia

2:30 pm: Late lunch at The Asia Society

4 pm: Visit The Frick

5:30-6 pm: Bus will pick our group up to drive back home

7:30-8 pm: ETA
