Greetings!
I'd like to share some news with you about the future of Rhythm & Motion. Since I started the company thirty-three years ago, I have happily been eating, drinking, sleeping, and dreaming Rhythm & Motion. I have felt a tremendous amount of gratification: teaching classes, witnessing the smiles of joy, fun and mastery on your faces during class, seeing two generations of students dancing together, and of course hearing from many of you about the transformative experience of dance in your lives. That never grows old.
Recently, after taking some time away from the studio for health reasons, I have decided to step away from the daily duties of managing the company. As we enter our fourth decade, it happens that this provides our company a great opportunity. I am excited to let you know that we have hired long-time R&M teacher and business advisor Nancy Rubin on a part-time basis as Managing Director of Rhythm and Motion. She brings a wealth of experience to this position, as a Rhythm & Motion instructor, business advisor for the past twenty-plus years, and executive in health, government, and non-profit organizations. Her wide experience, proven skills, and passion for all things Rhythm & Motion make her a natural for this job. Our amazing Samantha Allen will continue in her pivotal role as Director of Operations and David Martinez as Marketing and Community Coordinator extraordinaire. The incomparable Dudley Flores will also continue as Master Trainer of our remarkable corps of teachers.
I am also happy to report that I have made a full recovery, and am enjoying the best of health. I will continue as Director of Rhythm & Motion, though my primary responsibilities will be big-picture planning and overseeing, along with Nancy, the continuation of our vision to bring the joy of dance to people from all walks of life.
I'm sure you will join me in giving a warm welcome to Nancy in her new position at Rhythm and Motion!
Warm regards,
Consuelo
