Happy Holidays from Our Families To Yours!
Season's Greetings from everyone at Animal Hospital of North Asheville!

Our 2017 Holiday Pet Food Drive

The holiday season is a time to spend with family and friends. It is a time of giving and goodwill to others. While most of us are lucky to have family, friends and loved ones, there are many  in our community that do not have a family to call their own, and homeless animals that could use a little holiday cheer. We are so lucky and proud to live in a community with a big heart. Please help us spread some holiday joy by donating  food, new or gently used toys and bedding, or a monetary donation for animals in need.

Linear Foreign Bodies in Cats

By CriticalCareDVM
With the holiday season rapidly approaching, homes around the world will begin to decorate using materials like tinsel and handmade macaroni garland on twine. Folks will make personalized gifts liked hand-knitted clothing. These materials - tinsel, twine, yarn, string - are all very enticing to our feline friends. Yet if ingested, they can create a potentially deadly predicament called a linear foreign. To help raise awareness of this issue, I've dedicated some time this week to sharing information about this important topic. Happy reading!

Congratulations to our Canine Graduates

AHNA was proud to host Saturday training classes by Jenny White, CPDT-KA of Dog-Ed, throughout the year. During these classes the canine students and their families learned a variety of skills and basic manners. Students began with Jenny's Free Help Session called Unleash the Possibilities, which teaches the basics of how canines learn and how to use this information during training. The next step was the Concentration class, which taught families and canines how to focus despite distractions. Additional class topics varied from politely walking on leash, creating an "on" and "off" switch, help with impulse control and much more!
