DOJO CLOSURE - UPCOMING HOLIDAY REMINDER
There will be no classes from Tuesday, Dec 20th through Monday, January 2nd. We re-open for normal class schedule on Tuesday, January 3rd.
We are running unlimited classes through December 19th, so feel free to come as much as you want. No need to schedule make-ups or call ahead; just come to any age-appropriate class.
You are also welcome to do December make-ups in January by scheduling with Jeff. We hope your family has a wonderful holiday season and that your home is filled with joy and gratitude!

BUDDY WEEK COMING BACK - Have a friend join you in class for obstacle courses!
All week, every class, the week of Monday, December 12th through Saturday, December 17th, we will be running an obstacle course and inviting all students to bring a friend to class if they wish.
All buddies do need to have a liability waiver
on file with us.

REMINDER - NOVEMBER/DECEMBER TESTING - December 5th- December 10th
Due to the holidays, we combine the November and December tests in the middle of December. We will be sending out testing notices later this week and, as always, there is no charge for testing.
If you get a testing email, no action is needed on your part unless you prefer us to NOT test your child or prefer to test on a different day other than your normal day.
While we can test your child any day during the testing week, if you are unable to attend any day that week your child will automatically come up again to test in January.
Our Teen/Adult classes are on a different rotation schedule and thus will have already had their testing week.

WHEN DOES MY CHILD DO SPARRING? - How do I know when to bring our gear?
Sparring only occurs at Samurai level (and above) and only happens one official week each month, in addition to being part of many testing classes.
Teen/Adults should bring sparring gear to every class as we do not follow the same curriculum calendar.
You can always check the calendar on our bulletin board to see when we're doing what at Samurai and below levels. Alternately we do have it available online on our website.

For Samurai students, our curriculum weeks run Monday through Saturday and typically changes every 7 days between Grappling (wrestling), Sparring, Forms/Takedowns & Testing.
At certain times throughout the year, we do change that up a bit and focus on bully work, personal safety and other more specialized areas of training.
If it's not a sparring week or testing week, your child will not need gear in any Samurai class.

We have a tight class schedule, limited parking and our staff need proper time to prepare for classes, so we would like to enlist everyone's cooperation in not arriving more than 5 minutes prior to your class' start time.

As you saw in the November newsletter, we are still collecting canned and boxed food items for the Central Texas Food Bank but we are also giving our families the option of adding $1, $5 or $10 (or any amount) to your account.
100% of anything donated to Life Ki-do will be given directly to Capital Area Food Bank.
Every $1 Donated = 3 Meals
