AWARD-WINNING CLMS TEACHERS!

Middle School teachers Kellee Knutson and Kara Odegaard were honored as TIES Teachers of Excellence at the 2014 TIES Conference held in Minneapolis. A total of 96 teachers from 48 districts were chosen by their district superintendents to receive the award. The TIES Exceptional Teacher Award recognizes teachers who model best practices in their classrooms and engage students in learning. In addition to the two CLSD teachers chosen, CLSD alumni Carrie Leisch (84) and Brendan McNally (03) were also recognized for their outstanding work in the classroom for the Centennial and Shakopee school districts in which they work. | DARE Program Graduation | Fifth graders at Taylors Falls Elementary celebrated their graduation from DARE on Tuesday with special guest Minnesota Viking Joe Banyard. Eva Kubicki and Adrianna Her read their winning essays and got a chance to get an autograph. Students at Lakeside Elementary will have their graduation on Wednesday December 17th. Read more... |
| December of Giving |
Each of the school sites participated in service projects and drives this holiday season. Lakeside Elementary collected Toys for Teens, while Taylors Falls Elementary continued the tradition of the Giving Tree full of hats, mittens, and scarves. The middle school collected for Santa Anonymous, the Primary school collected food, and at the high school the Compassion Collection drive collected items like toilet paper, deodorant, toothpaste, and other essentials to add to the shelves at the community food pantry.
