"Gingerbread House Workshop"
Friday, December 5 @ 3:30 - 4:30 PM
For kids age 6 - 11 - create a colorful gingerbread house using edible materials. REGISTER: 978-921-6066.

"Holiday Concert with Dara"

Lively holiday music and old favorites for children 18 months to 5 years.

All-Ages Wreath Decorating

Bring the whole family from kids to seniors to a fun wreath decorating session at the main library on Saturday, December 6 from 1:30 - 4 PM. We will provide decorating materials and light refreshments - you provide the wreath and the creativity! Registration is required - get all the important details here. This event is funded by the Friends of the Beverly Public Library, and is free and open to the public.

December Holiday Closures

The main library and the Farms branch will be closed for the Christmas holiday on Wednesday, December 24 and Thursday, December 25. Both libraries will resume normal hours on Friday, December 26.  

 

For the New Year holiday, both the main library and the Farms branch will close at 4 PM on Wednesday, December 31 and will be closed all day on Thursday, January 1, 2015. Both locations will resume normal hours on Friay, January 2, 2015. Celebrate "Beverly's New Year 2015" events at the main library and other locations around Beverly on New Year's Eve.   

Introduction to 3D Printing
We've got more basic 3D workshops in January and February 2015! Library director Pat Cirone will introduce you to working with a MakerBot Replicator, Fifth generation on Tuesday, January 6 and Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Signup IS required - call 978-921-6062 to register. The workshop runs from 6:30 - 9 PM in the Sohier Room, ground floor. Open to ages 10 and up. Get all the details and helpful links here. Questions? The following events are open to all teens entering grades 6 through 12: 

 

HOLIDAY HENNA and more!
Fri., December 12 from 11 AM - 

1 PM, Sohier Room

Spend your day off getting a free henna tattoo, and designing a DIY sharpie mug to give as a gift or keep for yourself! All materials and snacks will be provided. This event is generously funded by the Friends of the Beverly Public Library. (There is no public school for students on this date due to a Staff Development Day.)
 

Pizza and a Movie

Wed., December 10 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM, Sohier Room

Join us for The Nightmare Before Christmas and free pizza!

"iToddler" Story Times
Tuesdays, December 2 & 16 at 10:30 AM
Wednesdays, December 3 & 17 at 10 AM
Join us for a new take on traditional story times! We'll use a combination of ebooks & apps as well as our usual songs, rhymes, shakers and scarves! 

 

"Musical Mornings with Miz Liz"
Saturday, December 13 @ 10  AM
A fun, interactive mix of children's sing-a-long music, movement and literature for children aged 0-5 and their parents/caregivers. All welcome!

December Art: "Light and Shadow"

The main library is pleased to host an exhibit of works by Massachusetts artists David Michael Lieb and Kyle David Lindholm in the Sohier Room this month. The show brings together works that examine the human spirit through portraiture and shadow box collage. Learn more about the exhibit and the artists.

"Nutcracker Tea" 
Sunday, December 7 @ 12 - 2 PM
Festive treats and tea, live music, visits from the Nutcracker, Sugar Plum Fairy, and Mrs. Claus. Families welcome! Sponsored by the Friends of the Beverly Farms Library.

"A Christmas Carol"
Tuesday, December 9 @ 6:30 PM
The Hampstead Stage Co. performs a lively rendition of the Dickens classic. For kids age 6 and up; adults will love it too!

Thursday, January 22, 2015 @ 7 PM
Do you love pie? If you do, don't miss our celebration of "National Pie Day" 2015 with a pie potluck and story telling with Tony Toledo on Thursday, January 22 from 7 - 8:30 PM. It's become an annual family-friendly tradition here at the library! We'll have more details available soon on our website and in our January newsletter, so stay on the lookout.
