Community Outreach Assistant
New Futures
Date/Time: Monday-Thursday evenings
Location: Windsor Heights Apartments, 32nd Avenue South, SeaTac
New Futures programs offer a wide range of educational support and family advocacy services at sites in White Center, Burien, and SeaTac. Volunteers are needed to assist New Futures staff during community events. Responsibilities may include serving food, helping with crafts/projects, translating, set-up and break down of event.
Ages: Everyone can participate
Time Commitment: Flexible one to two hours a month; minimum three-month commitment requested.

Donation Drive Volunteer
Lutheran Community Services Northwest
Date/Time: Flexible
Location: 4040 188th St., #200, Seattle
We all want to see our families stay warm this winter, and you can help ensure that happens! Families receiving services at the International Counseling and Center and Family Resource Center in SeaTac rely on generous donations ranging from hygiene products to furniture, blankets to food, and everything in between. Donations such as these go a long way in ensuring that our clients have proper and adequate supplies to lead a comfortable and stable life after experiencing homelessness, crisis or recent relocation. Lutheran Community Services is seeking volunteers or groups of volunteers to run donation drives.

Holiday Warehouse Helpers
Treehouse
Date/Time: Now through January 8. Shifts are available Monday through Saturday from 9:30am - 12:30pm and 1 - 4pm. Some Tuesday and Thursday evening shifts are available from 4:30 - 7pm.
Location: 2100 24th Ave S, Seattle
Treehouse helps kids in foster care to secure the essential education, basic material needs, and social experiences that they deserve. Treehouse is committed to leveling the playing field for youth in foster care, so that each is included, may prosper in, and contribute to society. The Wearhouse is the Treehouse free store where youth in foster care and their caregivers can shop for clothing, books, toys, and other essentials. Wearhouse holiday helper volunteers help sort donations, tag and organize items, restock the retail space, assist customers, and create a welcoming environment full of holiday cheer.
Ages: Volunteers age six and older are welcome to participate
Time Commitment: Three-hour shifts

Healthy HIP Packs Packing Parties
Hunger Intervention Program
Date/Time: Every 1st Thursday, 3:15-4:30 pm and every 3rd Wednesday, 5- 6:15pm
Location: Lake City Presbyterian Church, 3841 NE 123rd Street, Seattle
The Hunger Intervention Program provides Healthy HIP Packs to local elementary schools, where they are distributed to students who can benefit from extra food over the weekend. The HIP Packs provide healthy meals for these students who might otherwise experience hunger during the weekend when school meals are not available. Come out and join us at our packing parties to help assemble these HIP Packs and help with other volunteer projects.
Ages: All ages welcome! Younger kids may need help from parents to participate.
Time Commitment: About an hour

Holiday Giving Rooms
Hopelink
Date/Time: Monday, December 14, is the last day to donate gifts. Donations are accepted during regular business hours.
Hopelink is a community action agency that has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities since 1971. During the winter months, people face added financial pressures such as higher home heating costs and additional food needs. As part of their support for families during this time, Hopelink hosts Holiday Giving Rooms at each of their service centers. Hopelink Giving Rooms make it possible for parents and grandparents who are struggling financially to be able to hand-select donated toys and other items they know their children will love. Hopelink estimates that nearly 6,000 children will be served through our Giving Rooms. You can help make the season brighter by donating new, unwrapped gifts to Hopelink. Click

Sort & Pack Food
Food Lifeline
Date/Time: Food Lifeline's volunteer needs are ongoing. Shifts are available the following times:
- Tuesday; 9am - noon, 1 - 4pm or 6 - 8pm
- Wednesday; 1 - 4 pm or 6 - 8pm
- Thursday; 9am - noon, 1 -4 pm or 6 - 8pm
- Friday; 9am - noon or 1 - 3pm
- Saturday; 9am - noon or 1 - 4pm

Location: Food Lifeline - 1702 NE 150th St, Shoreline
Food Lifeline is a Feeding America food bank serving Western Washington. Food Lifeline approaches hunger as a logistical problem that can be solved. By redirecting good food from local farmers, grocers and restaurants that might otherwise go to waste, Food Lifeline can provide more than 88,000 meals daily. Volunteers inspect, sort and repack these donations for distribution to our network of 275 hunger relief partners. Volunteers must wear close-toed shoes and we suggest dressing in layers as the warehouse is not climate controlled.
Ages: Volunteers must be at least six years or older. Volunteers 15 and under require adult supervision. Youth groups require one adult for every five kids.
Time Commitment: Shifts are typically two to three hours long

Tree Planting at Park Pointe
Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust
Date/Time: Saturday, December 12. Three shifts are available:
- Morning team, 11am - 2pm
- All day team, 11am - 5pm
- Afternoon team, 2 - 5pm
Location: Park Point is a 102 acre natural area located between Issaquah High School and Tiger Mountain. Directions will be sent after registration.
The City of Issaquah decided to keep Park Pointe as an open space and is actively restoring 30 acres of wetlands. Over the past several years, volunteers, the city, and Washington Conservation Corp crews have been removing invasive plants from the wetlands, which is the home of a small tributary of Issaquah Creek, an important local salmon bearing waterway. Volunteers will aid in this restoration effort by planting native trees and shrubs to restore a healthy forest.
Ages: Volunteers should be at least six years old. An adult must accompany all volunteers under age 13.
Time Commitment: Three to six hours, depending on shift

BIG-HEARTED FAMILIES™ BOOK CLUB
Just in time for holiday gift giving: Our new and improved
Big-Hearted Families Book Club offers families a unique opportunity to turn reading time into family time. Every quarter we'll deliver recipients (kids ages 4-10) more than a carefully chosen book with a big-hearted theme. We also include customized conversation cards for parents and kindness activities for the entire family. It's a great way to help families connect while learning big-hearted lessons too.
