Showcasing the link between forests and climate change: three examples of REDD+ in Africa
In side events at COP21 in Paris, three African countries that are working with the World Bank Group showcased examples of how REDD+ has helped establish the building blocks they need to fight conserve forests and support green economic growth.
Increased funding for FCPF from Germany, Norway and the UK
At COP21 last week, Germany, Norway  and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland released a finance statement in which they pledge “$339M to support circa five new large-scale emissions reductions programs under the FCPF Carbon Fund”.

At the 13th meeting of the Carbon Fund in Brussels, in October, seven new countries were selected into the FCPF Carbon Fund pipeline.

Late September/early October, 2016: 22nd Participants Committee Meeting (PC22) and 9th Participants Assembly (PA9), venue to be announced

Late November/early December, 2016: 15th Carbon Fund Meeting (CF15), venue to be announced

Submission deadlines 

January 8, 2016: Submission deadline for MTRs to be reviewed virtually (prior to PC21)

February 19, 2016: Submission deadline for MTRs and R-Packages to be reviewed at PC21

Mid/late May, 2016 (indicative): Submission deadline for MTRs to be reviewed virtually (between PC21 and PC22)

End of July, 2016 (indicative): Submission deadline for MTRs and R-Package to be reviewed at PC22
