Donate Your Books
Maryland Book Bank
Date/Time: Drop-off is available seven days a week from 9am - 6pm. The building does not have to be open to leave books.
Location: The Baltimore Sun Complex (back gate) - 501 North Calvert St., Baltimore
In schools and homes all over Maryland, the Maryland Book Bank works tirelessly to ensure that every child has the educational resources needed to become a successful and proficient reader. Your support will help us continue to provide books to children, classrooms, and organizations serving those in need. We need and accept ALL KINDS of books, whether they are for children or adults! Please do not donate books that are damaged or moldy. The facility does not have to be open for you to leave your books on the loading dock. Please leave your donation on the dock packed in boxes. Your donation of books is tax deductible and we are able to provide tax receipts for your records. Books Pick-Up is available for a fee: City Pick-Up $25; Baltimore County Pick-Up $40; Other Counties Pick-Up $60.

Presents for Pets
Maryland SPCA
Date/Time: Drop-off hours through December:
- SPCA Adoption Center: Monday & Tuesday, 2:30 - 6:30pm; Wednesday through Friday, noon - 5pm; Saturday & Sunday, 11am - 4pm
- Project Adopt, White Marsh Mall: Friday, 1- 7pm; Saturday, 11am - 7pm; Sunday, 11am - 5pm

Throughout December, The Maryland SPCA is collecting toys for the cats and dogs in their adoption center. The goal is to collect enough toys in one month to entertain the homeless animals in our shelter throughout the coming year by filling our sleigh! You can help by bringing new cat and dog toys and treats to the Maryland SPCA. Some of the toys the pets like best are Kongs, Buster Cubes, toy mice (without catnip), and plush squeaky toys. Providing toys for the animals is more than a nice touch. Having toys and treats in the shelter environment helps socialize pets, reduces stress, and improves health. Pet donations can also be ordered directly from our
Amazon Wish List. Items will be delivered to the pets at the Maryland SPCA.

Collect Needed Items for Hope for All
Hope for All

HOPE for All is a Christian ministry which provides furniture, housewares, clothing, and personal items to families and individuals without sufficient economic resources. During the holiday season, Hope for All is collecting donations of children's pajamas, diapers (sizes 3 to 5), socks and underwear (all sizes and genders), cribs and/or pack & plays. Click

Holiday Gift Center
The Family Tree
Date/Time: Open daily for drop-offs from 9am - 9pm through December 12
Location: 2108 North Charles St., Baltimore
The Family Tree is Maryland's leading child abuse and neglect prevention center, providing the education and support parents need to raise healthy, productive children. Each December, The Family Tree organizes a Holiday Gift Center for vulnerable families who participate in our programs. Parents and caregivers sign up to meet with our shopping helpers and are given the opportunity to choose gifts for their children - at no cost to them. But we need your help in getting new, unwrapped gifts for boys and girls ages 0-16. View the

Kitchen Assistant/Meal Preparation
Moveable Feast
Date/Time: Monday through Friday, 8am - 3pm; Thursday evening, 5:30 - 8pm
Location: 901 N. Milton Ave., Baltimore
The mission of Moveable Feast is to foster a community that cares for men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses by preparing and delivering nutritious meals and groceries and providing nutritional counseling and other services. Kitchen Assistant volunteers typically help with:
- Food preparation tasks such as washing and chopping produce, seasoning proteins, and mixing sides
- Portioning, packaging, and sorting meals for delivery
- Cleaning up and stocking the pantry.
Ages: Families with children at least 14 years old are welcome to volunteer

Food Drive, Homemade Greetings, & Scarf Collection
Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland
Date/Time: Ongoing through December. Please call for drop-off hours.
Location: 515 South Haven St., Baltimore
This holiday season, Meals on Wheels is looking for families to donate shelf-stable/non-perishable food to assist their neediest clients. Families with young children can also create a card with cardstock, construction paper, or any other craft items to be delivered to a senior in the community. Include a little information about yourself and decorate it however you like! Cards can be for an upcoming holiday or season, or just to say hello! Please exclude last names and please be mindful of others' religious beliefs. Do you knit or crochet? Meals on Wheels could use your help to make a difference in a homebound person's life by donating a hand-made knit or crocheted scarf. We are collecting scarves to distribute to our home-bound clients during the winter months. By December, we would like to have over 1,200 scarves - help us reach our goal! Scarves should be at least 6" x 60". Please feel free to use any pattern or stitch that you like!

Housewarming Basket Assembly
Catholic Charities of Maryland
Date/Time: Call in advance to schedule a drop-off date
Location: Weinberg Housing and Resource Center 620 Fallsway, Baltimore
The Weinberg Housing and Resource Center serves hundreds of Baltimore's most vulnerable individuals each day. We give these items to WHRC residents moving into their own permanent housing. A complete basket includes the following items, assembled in a laundry basket or a large trash can. At this time, we are only accepting full baskets with ALL the included items in the first section. Items listed in the optional section are welcomed but not required.
- 1 set of twin blankets, sheets, pillow, and pillowcase
- 1 bath towel and 1 washcloth
- 2 plates, 2 forks, 2 knives, 2 spoons, and 2 cups
- 1 pot and 1 pan
- 1 shower curtain and 1 set of rings
- 2 dish towels, 2 oven mitts
- 1 pack of hangers
- 10-20 cans or boxes of non-perishable food
Optional items you can include in your basket:
- Air mattress, or a bed
- Cleaning products (1 each of Lysol disinfectant spray, 1 broom and dustpan, pack of sponges, dish detergent, all-purpose cleaner, mop, etc.)
- 1 floor mat for the shower
- 2 packs of simple t-shirts
- 1 container of laundry detergent
- 1 toiletry kit
- 1 microwave
- 1 blanket
- 1 coffeemaker, 1 pack filters, 2 packages coffee
- 1 can opener

You and your family can bake up some extra treats to share as a holiday gift with new or isolated neighbors, sick or stressed friends, or even service providers you meet on a regular basis, like the mail carrier or school bus driver.
