Welcome Councilmember Price!
In November, City Council appointed Ben Price to fill the vacant Ward 2 position. Ben, along with his wife and three daughters, moved to Castle Pines a few years ago, drawn to the city's high quality of life. "[I'm] here to volunteer because I care about the place where we live," Ben shared at the meeting. "I have a desire to serve my community as best I can." Three individuals applied for the open seat.

Welcome to City Council, Ben, and thanks for serving!

Monarch Blvd. Construction Coming
As part of the Lagae Ranch development, construction on the Monarch Blvd. extension is scheduled to begin in February 2017. The extension will allow Monarch to connect with the realigned Lagae Road.

Lagae Ranch is a new 249-acre development, which includes Elk Ridge Park, American Academy Charter School, new residential development, additional open space and parks, and limited retail. Originally approved in 2008, construction is underway now and is anticipated to continue through 2018.

Are You Ready for Winter?
Well, it looks like snow season is finally here!  Find the resources you need here , and below are a few friendly resident reminders:
  • Property owners are responsible for any sidewalks abutting their property, so please clear snow from your sidewalks within 24 hours of a storm ending.
  • Avoid getting plowed in by moving cars out of the street before a snow storm comes. This helps plows clear snow from curb to curb and makes for a safer community.
  • If you do park along the curb, please park your car parallel to the curb, as opposed to perpendicular to it. This makes streets and cul de sacs easier to plow.

PaRC Plan Update
We have heard from hundreds of residents about community priorities for parks and recreation. Thanks to all who participated in the second Public Survey or talked to us at Party in the Pines events. Check out what we heard in the Phase 2 Outreach Summary. During November, we focused on drafting the strategies and recommendations to go into the Plan based the community's strong feedback as well as the market and inventory analysis completed earlier in the process. Stay tuned for a release of the draft at the end of the year!
