NOW Receives Grant From GBP Foundation

We, here at United Way, are pleased to announce that the NOW program received a $3000 grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation.

Currently, the NOW program is serving 387 children a week from Marshfield, Auburndale, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal, Pittsville, Spencer and Stratford schools. The grant dollars will be used to purchase perishable, and any non-perishable, food items needed for the program.

We are grateful for the support received from so many community members, as well as, the support from many businesses and organizations, like the GBP Foundation.

Our friends at Forward Financial Bank collected 250+ "secret" recipes from their employees and made this wonderful cookbook. They are only $10 and ALL proceeds benefit Marshfield Area United Way! You can purchase them in our office Mon-Fri, 8-4:30.
A 70 year old female was referred to Marshfield Area Respite Care Center (MARCC) to increase her activity levels and also to enrich her socialization skills. She had been placed in a community based residential facility (CBRF) following a decline in memory ability and an illness. She had mild memory loss so she was in need of more interaction than her small CBRF could provide for her. At MARCC she cooks, plays games, greets others, sings, dances and uses her many decorating and drawing skills. She feels included and ownership toward the center, staff and other participants attending. She shares her joys and sorrows both present and past. She truly has been a success by any measure.

Marshfield Area Respite Care Center (MARCC), a United Way partner program, provides care and socialization for individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's, Alzheimer's disease and other dementia in a safe and supportive environment.   .
