We had our latest seminar in Río Indio November 13-17, and it was a good week. The topics for the week were
. Russ Turner led the teaching, and Clip opened each morning teaching on evangelism. We were honored to have John Webb (a missionary in the Dominican Republic for 16 years and now the pastor of a bilingual church in Patterson, NJ) with us for the week. His teaching was focused on missions.
Those in attendance seemed touched and motivated by the things that were taught. It was appropriate considering the church in Río Indio is praying and working to help mobilize Erik Mora (the assistant pastor) and his family as missionaries to Bocas del Toro.
Kenny Morris and Clip were able to return to Río Indio at the end of November to have another meeting about mobilizing the Mora family as missionaries. The church has many questions (they’ve never sent a missionary out of their church), but they are supportive.
What’s next? The pastor of the church, Amado, is going to reach out to other churches. Additionally, we have planned a trip to Bocas del Toro for January 28-February 1, 2018. The purpose of the trip is to visit areas where there is currently no evangelical church and to talk to the few pastors that are in Bocas del Toro. Getting a missionary to the field is a process, but, as you know, it is a worthy endeavor.
