Host a MP School Intern from Spain
We need a host family for our Hillview/Oak Knoll intern, Eva, early twenties, who comes from Soria, Spain. Her previously arranged hosts are not able to take an intern after all, so we have a great opportunity for another family. We ask host families to share their home with our intern for a three to six month period. The interns have been with us since the start of school and will depart back to their countries in mid-late June. Our interns assist in the Spanish Immersion classrooms at Laurel and Encinal, Spanish specialist classrooms at Laurel, Encinal, and Oak Knoll, and in all language classrooms at Hillview. They speak English and they are taking English enrichment classes through Palo Alto adult program. Interns get around town by bicycles that are provided for them.

Be a host family and share your American culture with our interns. For questions regarding hosting an intern or additional information, contact parent volunteer coordinator, Liliana Perazich here  or call 415-297-0125.  Feel free to pass this info to anyone you may feel would be interested. The families do not need to be a MPCSD family.

After-School Programs
Winter After-School Programs are now accepting registrations! Scholarships are available; if interested, please contact your student's counselor. More class information is available here.

Winter Conditioning Program with Stella Fit

The winter class will run from January 22 to March 16, Mondays 3:15 - 4:15 p.m. and Wednesdays 2:40 - 3:40 p.m. Program cost is $250. The Stella Fit Winter Running Conditioning and Foundational Skills Training Program is for kids who would like to keep up or improve their conditioning over the winter months. This program will help improve running endurance, speed, quickness, strength, and balance. We will be doing running drills on the track, along with foundational mobility, strength, speed, and balance sets. We will meet rain or shine.

Stella Fit's programs are meant for kids at all levels and are designed for results in a safe and fun environment. This program will also weave in talks on nutritional support, mental strategies, and sleep for optimal health and performance. The program will be led by Stella Bergan, MEd, NASM CPT and assisted by Chelsea Fleher, a certified personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist.
