December 4, 2017 News & Events

It's a Wonderful Life in Lafayette was Amazing!

It was a beautiful way to kick off the holiday season with all of our friends, family and neighbors. Santa arrived on Lafayette's 1st Fire Truck, Old Betsy, with a police escort to loud cheering crowds along Golden Gate Way and Plaza Way.

Thank you to our sponsors Lafayette Realtor Dana Green and Branagh Development for helping us host this event and create Santa's Village. Thanks to the many children who filled our stage with holiday songs.

Thank you to Sunrise Rotary for offering complimentary hot cocoa to all the Plaza guests. Thanks to State Farm Agent Kelley Reed for providing coloring books and crayons along with KIND snacks for providing bars to all the children waiting to see Santa. And a shout out to Mangia Ristorante Pizzeria, Stanley School Volunteers, Boys Team Charity, NCL Acalanes Chapter, Christina Alba, Karen and Larry Blodgett, Reid Edwards, Dennis Erokan, Mo Levich, Tom Schnurr and Suzie Shepard ... thanks for all the extra effort to make this event so special.

The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce is hosting it's annual Holiday Event on Wednesday, December 13, 5:30pm at the Lafayette Veteran's Memorial Center. This is a great opportunity for our local restaurants and caterers to showcase a special menu item or treat.

We usually expect around 150 guests at this event. We hope you will consider being a part of this tradition by donating a tray of hors d'oeuvres, dessert or any dish you would like to share  - as many of you have in the past.  One or two "bites" for each guest is sufficient and it also contributes to the success of this Chamber event.

The party begins at 5:30pm and we appreciate having food delivered to Lafayette Veterans Memorial Center by 5pm. We would LOVE for you to bring yourself and stay to enjoy the festivities with us but completely understand if you need to drop and run. Also, if you are unable to deliver and serve your food, let us know and we will have a volunteer pick up from your restaurant.
