OUR MISSION:
St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.
We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.
From the desk of Mrs. Tiezzi

Dear St. Rita Parents,

Would you and your family be willing to help decorate our school Christmas tree? This year I would like each family to share 1 family ornament for our school tree preferably one that bears your family name. Please send in an ornament this week or next to place on our tree. The ornament can be either handmade or manufactured but I would like it to include your family name. After Christmas all ornaments will be returned to you (as long as they are labeled). Thank you for helping to make our Christmas tree reflective of our unified school community of St. Rita.

Our school-wide Advent Giving Project is underway and once again our families are being very generous helping those in need. One little boy emptied his piggyback, another child asked to do extra chores around the house, and one young man used the proceeds from his lawn mowing service in order to bring in a donation. Teachers will be collecting monetary donations through next week. Thank you for helping to make Christmas a bit brighter for some of our parish families.

Our annual Christmas Concert-Nativity Pageant is scheduled for Tuesday December 12 beginning at 1:15 P.M. in St. Rita Church. This is for students in grades Kindergarten through grade 3. Students will be dismissed immediately following the concert to their parents. Teachers will send out more specific instructions later this week. Our school band, chorus and students in grades 4 and 5 will perform at our evening concert beginning at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday evening in the church. Dress for both concerts is holiday best unless your child will be in costume for the Nativity Play. I am looking forward to seeing you there.

Over the past few months I have witnessed our teachers and staff going above and beyond educating and caring for your children on a daily basis. It is certainly evident that these men and women have dedicated themselves to providing an academically excellent, nurturing and faith-filled environment in which your child can flourish. With the anticipation of the Feast of Christmas, I would like to invite you and your family to participate in helping give our teachers and staff a monetary gift this Christmas.
As in the past, there is certainly no obligation in participating and there is no specific amount that I am requesting. If you wish to participate, send in your monetary gift by Monday, December 18. Please mark your envelope Attention : Mrs. Tiezzi and make your check payable to St. Rita School.

Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity. May your Advent and Christmas season be filled with God’s peace and joy.

God Bless,
Mrs. Tiezzi

Stand Up Speak Out is coming to SRS
An Anti-bullying Musical

"The Connecticut Commission on Women, Children and Seniors, and Stand Up and Speak Out CT, are working together to help foster a positive school climate for children and youth throughout Connecticut by building empathy through the arts. The goal of our partnership is to raise awareness about the critical importance of social emotional learning and empowering youth leaders across our state and nation. By leading with kindness, our youth can combat negativity and exclusion which has reached epidemic proportions in our country. Building evidence-based programs is a way to reach those that have been affected"
