We are continually working to identify new and strengthen existing pathways to bring a skilled workforce to our industry and to our members. With initiatives like the Nevada Construction Collaborative, BuildNV.org, Workforce 60, Construction  Gateway and more, we are leading our industry and will continue to dedicate time and resources to this effort in the new year.  Please feel free to reach out and let us know your workforce needs, ask questions, provide suggestions or get involved.

Great news! The Nevada Builders Women's Council has awarded scholarships to four Nevada community college construction students. Look for the press release soon.

Have you checked out BuildNV.org lately? This website tool is available to all Builders Alliance members to access uploaded resumes. If you need your log in credentials, just let us know and we will send them to you.

Health & Safety  Programs

How important is your written health and safety program to your employees?  Company employees should be well versed with your written safety plan, so how you are going to accomplish that goal.  Your health and safety program describes management commitment to injury and illness prevention.  It also provides information on how your company will evaluate operations, equipment and the workplace environment to identify safety and health hazards.  When it comes to emergency planning and medical response considerations, your health and safety program should clearly explain employee responsibilities, as well as accident reporting procedures and investigation protocol.
Do you have a training program?  Many OSHA standards require task specific training.  Your health and safety program should describe who gets trained, what they get trained on, and how often they are trained.  Your employee training documentation should reflect what your program says you are doing.
As we prepare to start the new year, PGM Safety Services recommends taking a good look at your health and safety program.  Is it up to date?  Have any processes changed, or has the scope of work changed for your company?  It may be time to make a few revisions.  We can help.  For more information on written health and safety programs, or other construction industry safety questions or concerns, please contact PGM Safety Services, an affiliate company of Pro Group Management, and we will be happy to assist when you visit us at www.pgmnv.com or call (800) 859-3177.
