Visit our exhibits during special Holiday CircleFest hours from 1pm to 4:30pm. Create your own CMC keepsake snow globe - no water needed. Stop by the CMC Sweet Treats Bake Sale with special handmade holiday treats and hot beverages. Visit with Santa Claus from 1-4pm with required $5 photo purchase.

New Year's Eve Celebration

December 31st - 10:00am to 2:00pm

Celebrate the upcoming New Year in style with The Children's Museum of Cleveland. This year our celebration is open to the public. No reservations and no advanced tickets! Countdown to the New Year at 11am, Noon and 1pm. Have a great time with noisemakers & party hats and win prizes throughout our fun filled, DJ-led dance party. Party like it's 2015!

Please note: The Museum will be CLOSED on Monday, December 8 to facilitate the installation of our annual sand exhibit, opening on Saturday, December 13, 2014.

Dads Count: Be a Builder

December 6th - 11:00am to 2:00pm

Celebrate Dads, Grandpas and all the important men in a child's life with a family friendly event. Bring your families creativity for a fun day of design and construction! Our pavilion will be filled with 6 types of blocks to build structures from gigantic to intricate. Don't forget to stop by the Fatherhood resource table to learn about all the great programs available to fathers in Cleveland. All activities included with paid Museum admission or membership.

Visit with Santa

December 6th - 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Jolly Ole St. Nick is visiting The Children's Museum this holiday season. Come meet with Santa Claus on Dec. 6th from 1pm to 4pm. This is a great photo opportunity and souvenir photos only cost $5.00 per photo.

Terrific Tuesday

December 9th - 5pm to 7:30pm

Continuing a fun family activity we all can afford! Come down to The Children's Museum of Cleveland for "Terrific Tuesdays" occurring on the second Tuesday evening of the month from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. Explore our interactive hands-on exhibits after normal Museum hours. "Terrific Tuesday" will continue throughout 2014. This free evening of interactive play is generously sponsored by the Char and Chuck Fowler Family Foundation.

Mummy Mania Workshop

December 21st - 12:30pm to 1:30pm

Families take a trip to Ancient Egypt and unlock the mysteries of this fascinating culture. Learn the science behind mummification with our "Dummy Mummy," make papyrus-like paper and create your name in hieroglyphics! (Pre-registration required. Annual Sand Exhibit Returns

Opens December 13, 2014

It may be getting colder outside, but it's warming up inside at The Children's Museum of Cleveland as the Museum's annual sand exhibit gets ready to open! Egyptian Sands: Families Exploring Ancient Egypt will open on December 13, 2014 and remain on display to the public through April 12, 2015.

Children and their families will travel back in time to explore ancient Egyptian family life by writing their name in hieroglyphics in the Scribe House, preparing a meal in the Courtyard of an Adobe Home, fishing on the Nile or by building and exploring a Pyramid. Cleveland's own Carl Jara, one of the nation's top sand artists, will also return to create another of his one-of-a-kind masterpieces. While the main focus of Egyptian Sands: Families Exploring Ancient Egypt is to provide young visitors with a unique, hands-on learning experience, the many "extras" help provide a dramatic, immersive environment in which important skills and concepts can be taught to children of all ages and abilities through creative play. Special themed programs and workshops will be offered throughout the duration of the exhibit.

Offering a variety of hands-on, family-oriented exhibits and programming, The Children's Museum of Cleveland is the Northeast Ohio destination and resource for all young children, parents and caregivers to engage in fun, innovative, interactive play that accelerates the child's creativity, development and education. The Children's Museum is located at 10730 Euclid Avenue in University Circle. The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Regular admission is $8.00 for children and adults and free for infants 11 months and younger. The Museum's operations are funded in part by the generous support of over 1,200 member families, and these members always receive the benefit of free admission.
