Before you know it, it will be 2018!

Hello everyone,

Not only is 2018 coming, but we will also have new floors to tap on! Thanks again to our many donors. Especially Nancy and Joel Kremsdorf! (see the list below)

I think the holiday season is certainly about giving thanks, and then celebrating the new year to come. But, it is also about reflecting on what has happened and what we've all managed to accomplish in the past. Let me just say, I'm VERY proud of all the amazing work that's been done around here and that's all thanks to an army of ATDF students, families, friends, partners, staff members and our board. So, I look forward to everyone's further participation in 2018. By the way, our Adult Task Force is on fire! The next meeting will be held on Thursday, January 18th! Join us.

We continue to raise funds to support our programs, so If you're so inclined, you can make your tax deductible donations by visiting us at: nycharities.org

Don't miss our Youth Holiday Concert on December 3rd. And we have a couple of Tap City Youth Ensemble Studio Showcases lined Up for December 16th & 17th!

Student of the Month!
Cynthia Bianchi

" I took my first tap class at age 8 in Detroit. It was sponsored by the afterschool program. I loved it, I loved my costume and I loved performing at the end of the year. The next year, however, when they no longer offered tap, I switched to playing the trumpet. Fast forward to college and my 20's, I studied modern dance and African jazz in San Francisco. I loved the movement. Then, as they say, "life happens." Career demands, moves and parenthood left little time for dance lessons.

Around 2008, eager to dance again, I discovered The Studio, in Amenia, NY. My teacher, Heather Holohan, was inspirational. She was a student and performer with ATDF and spoke lovingly of Tony Waag and Brenda Bufalino. Taking her advice I participated in ATDF's winter intensive which further confirmed my love for tap. A shift in my career in 2010, allowed me to move to NYC. I began classes at ATDF immediately. It has been exhilarating experiencing the collective joy of dancing with wonderful, supportive teachers and new-found friends. I am now a member of the Adult Task Force, seeking ways to expand programs. Thank you ATDF for sharing the gift of dance!
