Greetings
Near and dear,
Yet far from here
I am here
And ready for cheer!

My name is Brandon Patterson, and I'm here to serve the fine communities of St. Croix and Pierce counties as their new Americorps VISTA. Coming all the way from Alabama, I'm definitely excited to serve! I am humbled by the amazing things Tiffany accomplished before me, and I pledge to carry on her work and more with all that I have.

We have some exciting things planned for our upcoming Spring Build, and all because of the continuing dedication from our patrons that support us and allow us to do our great work of providing housing for those who need us in our local communities.

We're Thankful

Many Thanks

Gingerbread Season

Gingerbread house making is a festive holiday tradition enjoyed by many families.  The popularity of gingerbread houses skyrocketed in Germany after the publication of "Hansel and Gretel" and can be traced back to ancient Greece and Egypt. They are built traditionally before Christmas and decorated with frosting and many different kinds of candies and toppings.

ReStore was happy to provide families with an opportunity to decorate their own gingerbread house at Christmas on Main's holiday event in Roberts on Saturday, December 9 th .  It was an afternoon of holiday fun as people ventured down Main Street for the afternoon and into the evening, stopping at different stations to decorate ornaments, decorate cookies, and decorate a gingerbread house, just to name a few.  Look at the proud faces below of everyone showing off their creations:

We would like to thank the Central St. Croix Area Chamber of Commerce for organizing this wonderful family event along with the Sidetrack Saloon for the use of their facility, Family Fresh - New Richmond, Walmart - New Richmond, Family Fresh - River Falls, County Market - Hudson and Dick's Fresh Market - River Falls for their donations to help us make this event possible for children and families from the St. Croix Valley communities we serve.

Merry Christmas to all and to all it was a good night.

We're Building in the Spring!

The Taylor family has been selected for the planned home in Hammond.  This family of four has been living in an apartment while searching for a better surrounding for their two young daughters.  They have begun their sweat-equity work and are thrilled to be the newest family to join the Habitat community.

Please help us make this homeownership dream come true for the Taylors.

Will you  help bring another family home?

Become a ReStore Volunteer

The ReStore continues to look for individuals or groups who are willing to offer their time and talents to support the ReStore.  We have a variety of activities where no special skills are needed - donation reception, donation cleaning, pricing and floor placement, general store organization and cleanliness.  We also have activities where your skills in repair/assembly, or metal recycling can be put to good use.  Please come and spend a 4-hour shift with us.  The ReStore is open Tuesday - Saturday 9am - 5pm.

Contact: Andy Scheiderer at 715-760-3456 or andy@scvhabitat.org to get involved today. We need YOU to become a Habitat volunteer!
