"It was Christmas Eve, seven Christmas Eves after Scrooge's partner Jacob Marley had died. Scrooge was a tight fisted hand at the grindstone...a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, covetous old sinner. Having allowed but one lump of coal for heat, he was wringing the last minutes of work from poor Bob Cratchit. You could almost see the black, dingy cloud Scrooge surrounded himself with. Looking for comfort in his beloved ledger book, Scrooge was suddenly startled by the appearance of a visitor." - The Narrator, A Christmas Carol If Scrooge were around today I doubt if he would have a smart phone and poor Bob Cratchit, if he had a smart phone, wouldn't be able to afford to shop on-line or anywhere else. You, on the other hand, have access to a world of shopping opportunities. Let us add to your choices. We're offering gift certificates in increments of $25 and $50 which can be used at any of our December dinner theater performances of A Christmas Carol. Since we refuse to take a page from Scrooge's beloved ledger book, we'll donate 10% of each gift certificate you purchase to the Caring Hands Soup Kitchen in Kingston, New York. Our interactive, dinner theatre version of A Christmas Carol is celebrating its 14th year. It was first presented at Lawry's Prime Rib Restaurant in Las Vegas, Nevada back in 2001 and although it has gone through a number of cast changes and script revisions, the show has retained its magic. This is our sixth season in the Hudson Valley area of New York and our show not only remains a family tradition for many but enchants new fans every year. Many have seen Scrooge, the Ghosts and the Cratchits from a theater seat but very few have interacted and even dined with them. This year we have nine performances of A Christmas Carol which means there's at least one near you. Our show calendar is listed below with the links and numbers you'll need for reservations. Join the festivities, which includes a fine dinner, caroling and interactions with the characters Charles Dickens made immortal. And consider sharing it with your loved ones. Email us at murdercafe.ny@gmail.com, order your gift cards and we'll do the rest. Now let the feast begin! Frank |

- Jim Wolf, Hyde Park, NY
"Our evening started with Tiny Tim showing us to our table. Once there, we had Victorian carolers sing to us. I don't know what was better their music or the costumes they were wearing. Soon we had Scrooge live and in front of us along with Nephew Fred and then the ghosts came. We can't wait til next Christmas!"
- Paula Bower, Cold Spring, NY
