Courthouse Lighting Celebration
This will be the 62nd year that Prescott Courthouse and adjoining plaza area are "dressed up" for the holidays. Well overt 100 trees on the Prescott Courthouse Plaza, the courthouse itself and the Gazebo on the north side of the Plaza will be decorated for the holidays.
The lights will be turned on Saturday, December 3rd following a brief, traditional program on the north side of the Courthouse steps which includes children's choirs from schools from around the Prescott area, followed by a reading of "Christmas Story" by Prescott native and former Arizona Secretary of State and Arizona Senate President, Ken Bennet. Over 10,000 people attend this event and the Annual Christmas Parade held on the same day.
The lights will be on every night after that until their final night the Sunday before Martin Luther King Day.
