New Jersey Department of Education Blue Ribbon Recognition Ceremony

The New Jersey Department of Education honored Cedar Hill Prep on December 6, 2017 for the 2017 Blue Ribbon Award at their offices in Trenton, NJ.
Preschool - Kindergarten News
Preschool Chanukah Celebration

Preschool class celebrates Chanukah, the Jewish festival, also known as the festival of lights. The children learned the meaning of Chanukah and the traditions that go along with it. 
Kindergarten Nicholas Day

They put their shoes out in the hallway in hopes that St. Nicholas would put treats in their shoes! Imagine the excitement when they saw that everyone received treats, and nobody had coal in their shoes!

Kindergarten Chanukah

The kindergarten children took a Magic Carpet Ride using their imagination to see the celebration of Chanukah magnificently celebrated in Israel and in the United States of America! 
Pre Kindergarten Chanukah

The Pre Kindergarten classes enjoyed celebrating Chanukah with latkes and applesauce. We learned about the miracle the happened so many years ago!

'Tis the Season of Giving

With the holidays upon us, we realize it is a wonderful time of year and truly a time for giving and sharing. It is also a time for us to reflect and show gratitude for all that we have. Unfortunately there are some that are not as fortunate as we are. 

First Grade Hot Chocolate

Everyone loves hot chocolate, so what better way to learn how to write directions, than by making some! Students enjoyed making their own cup of hot chocolate, and then wrote and illustrated the recipe.

Pre Kindergarten Holiday Party-Pajama Day

What a great way to celebrate the last day of school before Winter break then by wearing your pajamas to school. The Pre- Kindergarten classes were nice and cozy in their PJ's as we enjoyed some yummy treats. 

Kindergarten Pajama Day!

Today in the spirit of the holidays, the kindergarten children despite the snow had pajama day! The children celebrated with holiday stories, a special craft and delicious treats at their party.

Elementary News
Grade 2A Visit to Assisted Living

As part of our Service Learning Program, Class 4B visited the Martin and Edith Stein Assisted Living Residence. The children did a wonderful presentation of their Harvests Around the World projects, receiving much applause from the residents. Following the presentations, the students visited individually with each resident. 

Lights, Camera, Action!

The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders in Mrs. Higinbotham's Playwriting Workshop performed a play that they created, directed, and starred in on Wednesday, December 6th. The Workshop emphasized creating a play and writing dialogue based entirely on student input.

Second Graders Spread Cheer this Holiday Season!
Second grade students worked together to craft mitten and snowman decorations for children at nearby St. Peter's Hospital.This was a great learning experience for the children.

Middle School News
Jersey Shore Debate League
On December 2nd, 5 teams from Cedar Hill Prep School debated at Bolger Middle School in the Jersey Shore Debate League. Cedar Hill Prep School debaters won the top 8 out of the 10 Speaker Awards. They also won the top three Team Awards. Vishnu Gade won the Top Speaker for Cedar Hill Prep School, and Krishna Sai Lekhi won the Golden Gavel as Top Speaker in the League!

Grade 6 Tea Party
The 6th grade completed their novel The View From Saturday  and to connect with the novel they had a tea party on Tuesday, December 12 and created invitations in calligraphy.
You're A Good Man,
Charlie Brown
On December 1 - 3 , our resident theatre company, You'll Get 'Em Next Year Kid , presented You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown right here in the Cedar Hill Prep Black Box.

Holiday Sing
Preschool - Grade 4
On Wednesday evening December 13th, the Preschool through Grade 4 students performed in the 15th Annual Holiday Sing. For the first time in CHP history, the show expanded into 3 different concerts, each featuring a different style of Holiday Music.

Middle School Holiday Sing
On Thursday December 14th, the Middle School students performed in the 15th Annual Holiday Sing. The show put a little twist on classic Holiday music, adding a little comedy to an evening of singing.

Alumni News

Congratulations to Cedar Hill Prep alumni Deja Cunningham for being accepted to Williams College for Fall 2018. She is currently attending The Peddie School and is captain of the track and field team. 

We wish her all the best on her acceptance and future endeavors!
