On December 6, 2017 the AER released a new edition of Directive 067: Eligibility Requirements for Acquiring and Holding Energy Licences and Approvals.  Applicants may now be required to provide additional information at the time of an application and the AER may increase its discretion regarding the rejection of applications where they feel an applicant poses a risk.  

In addition, all parties with current Directive 067 eligibility are required to update their eligibility through the submission of a Directive 067 Schedule 1 by January 31, 2018. Failure to provide an updated schedule may result in a the AER revoking or restricting license eligibility.

On December 8, 2017, the BCOGC released a series of updates and changes to the land validation rules and short-term water use submissions through the application management system (AMS).

Please note that the AER is closed between December 23, 2017 and January 2, 2018. While all systems will be running during this time, application processing/approvals will likely be halted or delayed.

On December 6, 2017, the SME implemented its well document search tool allowing users to search for well documents by a larger land location range.
