330 John Ringling Blvd, St. Armand's Circle

The existing commercial building at 330 John Ringling Blvd. on St. Armand's Circle in Sarasota, Florida had been vacant for a period of a time. Clifford Scholz first worked on renovating this commercial location 25 years ago with the previous owner's father. The previous renovations included adding a commercial elevator for the property, connecting the lower floor dining/restaurant facilities, and the upper floor terrace dining facilities.

Since then, the owner's son has taken over the property and the renovations of the building was tackled as a complete design with the basis to move forward. After many tenants in this location, it was decided that in order to get a sustainable tenant, the renovation would have to be complete and perhaps a dichotomy of what the previous designs have been.

A contemporary motif was selected and the CMSA Team turned their design directions to providing a new and contemporary look for the facade of the building.  The building fits into St. Armand's very well, and actually complements the adjacent property which was originally designed by CMSA Architects 20 years ago.

Mountain Lake, Lake Wales Florida

Ron Johnson of Lake Wales, Florida asked Clifford Scholz to come over and take a look at an existing house that he had just purchased for possible ideas of renovation. The residence had been constructed in the early mid 70's in the prestigious development know as Mountain Lake, Lake Wales.

Upon review of the residence, Clifford Scholz indicated that it would be a perfect candidate for remodeling. The house had significant ceiling heights as well as proportions that were very acceptable, but detailing and window placements among other things were out of proportion. With Ron Johnson and Cliff Scholz working together they were able to put together a simple remodeling design that turned the house into an up to date residence that mirrored the prestigious development.

The interior designer Christian Lee, of Lake Wales Florida, did the interiors along with CMSA doing the architectural work. The combination resulted in a fabulous but simplified residence that takes on the feel of a turn of the century home.

Ron Johnson, who is a very involved client, was responsible for the renovation of the gardens, landscaping, and the pool area.
