Elementary School goes to the

Grand Canyon and Beyond

Over the Spring Break, Delphi Academy's Elementary School went on a 3-day road trip to one of the seven natural wonders of the world: the Grand Canyon.  After recovering from the sheer majesty of the canyon, the students went on a hike to explore the area around the top of the canyon, and went to the visitor center where they learned some amazing facts about the canyon and its history.

After the Grand Canyon, Elementary School went on to Hoover Dam.  They toured the dam and saw the generator room with its massive turbines 527 feet into the ground.  They learned a lot about the dam and its creation.

Bearizona was the next stop on the trip, a wildlife park unique in that visitors drive through it and visit the animals from the comfort of their own cars.

The students saw bears, wolves, bison, long-horned sheep and many other animals, up close and personal, on their way through Bearizona.

The students not only had a blast on their trip and saw some of the most impressive features the West has to offer, they also learned a lot on many subjects, including natural history, geology, civil engineering and wildlife conservation.  All in all, the trip was a success and the students can't wait for what the next trip might bring!
